Let's talk camp

Could this be their next adventure?

Ask about availability, costs and whether camp is a good fit for your child.

We'll only use your details to reply about camp.

Before you ask

The things parents want to know first

  • Who's looking after them

Camp is designed and led by occupational therapists and run by experienced allied health staff, there to support and guide every camper through the days and the nights.

  • Your camp, your choice

Activities are optional. Children and parents choose together, and the OT team adapts what's on offer so every camper can take part in their own way.

  • How age groups work

Camp is for ages 5 to 18, with campers grouped by age so younger children and teens each get activities pitched at them.

Before camp you receive a full information pack: what to pack, safety guidelines and the schedule. During camp you get updates and photos.

The experience

Three days. Two nights.
A long list of firsts.

Designed and led by occupational therapists, camp brings children and young people aged 5 to 18 together to try new experiences, build confidence and practise everyday skills in a supportive environment.

  • A teenage camper balancing on an exercise ball in the gym while two staff members coach him

    Get moving in the gym

Supervised gym sessions and CrossFit for Kids for older participants, with staff alongside. Subject to suitability and venue requirements.

  • A camper in a sprint start on the running track with a coach watching beside her

    Sports day on the track

Sprints, sack races, egg-and-spoon races and a lot of cheering each other on.

  • A camper and a staff member resting their arms on the pool edge, chatting

    Cool off in the pool

Make a splash after a big day, then wind down together with a movie night.

  • A staff member talking with a group of campers sitting together beside the running track

    Time to make friends

Between activities there's time to sit, talk and get to know each other, with staff right there.

Also on the list: surfing, beach volleyball on the sand court, team flags, laser skirmish, basketball and dinner out together at a restaurant.

There's more to camp than the activities.

From sharing ideas and working as a team to managing daily routines away from home, campers get real opportunities to practise the skills that matter at home and at school. Active games build fine and gross motor skills along the way.

Questions

The things parents ask first

Who is camp for?

Children and young people aged 5 to 18. Campers are grouped by age, so younger children and teens each get activities pitched at them. If you're not sure whether camp suits your child, send an enquiry and we'll talk it through with you.

What if my child doesn't want to do an activity?

That's fine. Activities are optional: children and parents choose together, and the OT team adapts what's on offer so every camper can take part in their own way, or sit something out with support.

Where is camp held?

At the Gold Coast Performance Centre in Runaway Bay, from Monday 14 to Wednesday 16 December 2026. Accommodation and daily details are set out in the information pack you receive once a place is confirmed.

Who looks after the campers?

Camp is designed and led by occupational therapists and run by experienced allied health staff. Your child's safety and wellbeing come first, and the team is there to support and guide every camper throughout.

What does camp cost, and what's included?

Ask us for the current camp fee and what it covers. We support NDIS participants, so ask about camp funding and we'll talk through how it can fit with your child's plan.

How will I know how my child is going?

Families receive updates and photos during camp. Before camp, the information pack covers what to pack, safety guidelines and the full schedule, so you know what each day looks like.

My child hasn't been away from home before. Is that okay?

Being apart can be hard for everyone. Managing routines away from home is one of the skills camp is designed to build, and staff support campers through it. Tell us a little about your child in the enquiry and we'll talk about what would help.
